INTERSOLV AND SEGUE SOFTWARE DELIVER INTEGRATED TESTING AND
VERSION MANAGEMENT SYSTEM

Joint Solution Available Immediately to Provide Configuration Management
of Automated Tests

ORLANDO, FL, June 12, 1996--INTERSOLV, Inc. (NASDAQ: ISLI) and Segue Software, Inc. (NASDAQ:SEGU) today announced the delivery of an integrated testing and version management solution. Through the integration of Segue's QualityWorks and INTERSOLV PVCS Version Manager, the companies jointly provide a comprehensive client/server test and version control management solution, greatly decreasing development cycles and increasing development productivity.

Announced today at INTERSOLV World `96, the integration provides quality assurance professionals the ability to match versions of test plans and test suites with versions of the corresponding application code. Versions of tests can be assigned and accessed directly from the QualityWorks automated testing tool menus. Users can manage and control access to these tests by leveraging the access privilege features within PVCS. For the first time, quality assurance professionals can synchronize test versions with code versions without having to maintain additional repositories of test information. The integrated versions of both QualityWorks and PVCS are available immediately from the respective organizations at no extra charge.

"Although many automated test tool vendors have talked about integrating test management with version control, Segue is the first to deliver integration with INTERSOLV's PVCS," said Tim Perkins, Segue's vice president of marketing. "This integration provides customers with the ability to integrate automated test control into version control without the cumbersome approach of multiple repositories. Testing is a fundamental phase in the development lifecycle and customers need to control their tests in parallel to controlling the complexity of their software code."

"Segue Software is the first testing tool vendor to deliver an integrated solution to the test management/version control issue facing today's development organizations," said John Cimral, vice president and general manager of PVCS. "This integration offers an additional level of value for PVCS customers and strengthens the lifecycle management process for development organizations."

PVCS Version Manager

INTERSOLV PVCS Version Manager -- the industry standard for Software Control Management (SCM) on the LAN, oversees changes to all elements that comprise a software system. Version Manager includes facilities to control parallel development and to reconcile conflicting changes made to a module. Modules are retrieved from wherever they are stored; developers do not have to remember where the archives are located, simplifying and encouraging code reuse, even across operating systems boundaries.

QualityWorks

Segue QualityWorks is the only automated software testing solution that can validate all components of distributed client/server applications -- across multiple platforms and releases, with one set of reusable scripts. It includes QA PartnerĀ® and QA Partner: Distributed, QA PlannerTM, QA DBTesterTM, QualityWareTM, and third-party product integration.
